Type Locality and Naming
Along the river Gelandarya, left tributary of the Aksu River, NW Gissar [might be SW]. I.M. Abdazimova, A.A. Trenbach (described for the first time). Stratotype on the left bank of the Aksu River, 3 km to the northeast from the mouth of its left tributary, the Talinush stream, 0.7 km to the northwest from the ruins of the village of Shilbi.
Synonym: Gelendar'inskaya Suite, Гелендаринская св., Gelandarin Fm, Gelandary Fm, Gelandarynskaya suite
Lithology and Thickness
Continental alluvial-proluvial breccias, conglomerates, conglomerate-breccias, at the top - clayey alites of a brownish-red color. Thickness 50-125 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
It lies with erosion on the Okuzbulak Fm or with structural unconformity on Paleozoic rocks
Upper contact
It is overlain with erosion by the Karakuz Fm.
Regional extent
Northwestern? (might be Southwest) Gissar, along the left tributary of the Gelandarya River, exposed by boreholes.
